PREPARATION FOR SHIPPING Order Boxes Online to have plenty on hand - They are free
I strongly recommend shipping in a box wider &/or longer than a shoe box so it will NOT fit in a standard mailbox AND WILL be SAFELY delivered to my door. All USPS boxes are free. Priority Mail Box - 1095 is an excellent choice & readily available at most post offices. For better prices use Regional Boxes. You will probably have to order them. See next column.
Free Priority boxes(don't waste money on flat rate--you don't need it) are available at the post office &/or can be delivered to your home.
Paper based shipping bags tear easily and get stuffed in the mailbox. Boxes with a lot of vacant air space inside get crushed &/or torn.
Wrap your items in plastic of some sort to protect them in case the package gets torn. Err on the side of caution!! I always do.
I use a brand newPriority Mail Box 7 or Regional Rate boxesfor smaller quilts to return your quilts.
I use 12 x 12 x 12 boxes to ship super large quilts. The cost is $1.15 per box. Otherwise packing materials are free.
